Salaam!

Salaam!

SALAAM. English equivalent to it is PEACE.

Salaam. Salaam. Salaam.

Peace. Peace. Peace.

Everyone says peace and desires peace. But, where is the actual source of peacefulness?

Through meditation? Yoga? Prayer? Being with beloved? Looking at the greenery scenes?

Yes? No?

People feel good while doing all those. So yea, no doubt peacefulness can be found in any of that.

But..how long does it last?

Think. Estimate.

Okay, you keep the answer. I believe that we Moslems only acknowledge the source of tranquility only comes from remembering Allah. Through solah and zikr.

But....

How long does it last?

Remember your previous solah. How long you feel the calmness? During and after the solah right? You make dzikr after solah to extent your connection with Allah and you feel him. You feel so...calm. [But not all the time right especially when you are not khushoo' in your salah]

But the moment you lift from the prayer mat, you walk out from the door, the calm feeling is not longer intense as what you were experiencing during the solah. Especially when you start nearing the 'jahiliyyah thing' like seeing and doing things that are prohibited in Islam.

So, the tranquility is slowly degrading. Why? Okay, start analyzing.

Ask yourself sincerely from the bottom of your heart, "Why do I pray?"

We all know why, albeit we have different answers. The point that I wanna raise here is that,

Are we really really doing solah for the sake of Allah?

"Yes of course! We all worship him!" Okay, if we are sure enough with our intention, the good news is that...

If we are really sincere in worshiping Allah, the tranquility shall be preserved. Not necessarily through the calm feeling, but it could be that our actions or affairs throughout the whole day are really going smoothly and we would not react aggressively, out of the track if you know what I mean.

It's the high quality of solah being established that helps us. Both in this world and hereafter.

Allah knows the most.

Peace,
ZARA =)
